Waking up this morning was very much like yesterday. Feeling tired and not keen to move out of bed before 6am. The only good thing was that today's session was weights not cardio. I know with these sessions I can go as light or heavy as I need so the intensity of the session is up to me! Listening to your body is such an important thing.
I walked into the gym to attend T3 ...(strength session) and Nate was wide awake so I wasn't sure how much I'd be able to get through before he 'crack it'!
Thankfully the workout was upper body and core. 3 super sets of 10 Reps. 💪🏼 I knew I wouldn't be able to do the core components just yet (post op) but the rest id try my best with.
Walking towards the weight I was thinking I'll just go really easy (for me) and use a 4-6kg... but then again what was the point of getting up before 6am and not put in 100%. So I grabbed a set of 7kg DB and a 12kg KB - after 10months off I was surprised with how much strength I still had.
Each rep was HARD and my arms were shaking after the first few sets! I'm not going to lie about it, I definitely struggled, but I didn't back down on my weight.
My message today is to believe in yourself. If I had grabbed the lighter weights, yes I wouldn't be as sore! But for me I also wouldn't have pushed myself that little bit more.
I finished the session a little early so I could get home to feed Nate, but I put in 100% when I was there! When you're limited to the time you have to put into yourself, use it wisely and GO HARD!
Who's keen to join me next Tuesday?
